What We Do The Long Island Advocacy Center offers...

Students... solutions to school problems such as discipline, truancy, suspensions, residency disputes and inappropriate placements.

Individuals with Disabilities... Service coordination, assistance in obtaining vocational rehabilitation services and appropriate educational programs.

How We Implement Our Services Through mediations, negotiations and representation, specially trained attorneys and paraprofessionals ensure that individuals receive the maximum service to which they are entitled under the law.

LIAC provides training sessions in relevant laws, regulations and advocacy skills to family members, students, educators, probation officers and other professionals.

As a result of LIAC's intervention, individuals have achieved greater self-respect, independence and economic self-sufficiency. Instances of juvenile delinquency and school drop-outs have greatly reduced, saving taxpayer dollars.
